VIP Salon: Sedation and Anesthesia Assisted Grooming
All services offered by VIP Salon are available with three levels of sedation.
Any animal needing any level of sedation or anesthesia must have had a physical exam at VIP within the previous 365 days or an exam can be performed the day of grooming.
Level 1
Mild oral sedation given at home before grooming appointments
Generally Trazodone, Gabapentin, or Acepromazine
Grooming done routinely
Level 2
Moderate to Heavy Sedation
Requires oral sedation given at home and then injectable sedation at VIP before grooming
Level 2 sedation requires a pre-sedation exam in VIP’s Hospital with EVERY groom.
Includes basic vital signs monitoring by our veterinary nurses
Additional fees are estimated to be $50-75 but are based on size and time.
Level 3
Full anesthesia needed for grooming
Requires pre-anesthetic bloodwork in the previous 365 days.
Full anesthesia grooming is considered a medical procedure
Fees include comprehensive vital signs monitoring by a veterinary nurse
Estimated cost is an additional $100-150 depending on size and circumstances
